Did Christ die to make me feel good about myself?

... Or did Christ die to free me from thinking so much about myself and start
to focus on what is truly satisfying, what is truly gloriously wonderful beyond all
things - God? Is this the gospel you are hearing? If not I recommend this book.

"In Him we were also chosen, having been predestined according to the plan of him who works out everything in conformity with the purpose of his will, in order that we, who were first to hope in Christ, might be for the praise of His glory." (Ephesians 1:11-12)
